Proper HVAC System Design—Let Us Build Your Home’s Ecosystem.

Most heating and air companies just swap boxes. We design the whole comfort system around your home—quiet, even temperatures from room to room, hand-built ductwork, hospital-grade air filtration, and a fresh-air system you can shut off when wildfire smoke rolls in. We design, install, repair, and maintain every type of home system—central air and furnaces, heat pumps, conventional split systems, ductless, and multi-zone VRF/VRV—whether you are fixing comfort issues in an existing home, remodeling, or building from the ground up.

Thoughtful System Design

How We Design Your Home's Comfort.

No sales gimmicks and no confusing jargon. Here is what we do differently on every home we touch, and why it makes such a noticeable difference in daily comfort.

Principle 01

Room-by-Room Variable-Speed Comfort (Why One Thermostat Never Works for a Whole House)

A sunny living room with large windows, a kitchen during dinner prep, a home office, and a cool sleeping bedroom all need different temperatures at the exact same time. We design room-by-room zoning—motorized dampers on a conventional ducted system, or variable-speed multi-zone equipment where it fits—paired with intuitive smart touchscreen controls so each area gently adjusts to hold the exact temperature you set—without blasting on and off.

Typical install: One or two big systems blast full-speed on and off; sunny rooms stay warm while bedrooms get freezing cold.
Rea's standard: Independent room-by-room temperature control with smart touchscreen room controllers—steady temperatures and no loud air rush.
Principle 02

Built to Keep Cooling on the Hottest Summer Days

When a valley or canyon heat wave pushes past 110°F, outdoor units squeezed into a narrow, sun-baked side yard recycle their own hot exhaust air and shut down right when your family needs cooling most. We place outdoor equipment on shaded walls whenever possible, give every unit plenty of breathing room, and size the system for real summer heat waves instead of textbook averages.

Typical install: Outdoor units crowded against a hot west wall or boxed into a tight corner where they overheat and trip off.
Rea's standard: Thoughtful shaded placement and proper airflow clearances so your system runs reliably on the hottest days of the year.
Principle 03

Clean Attic Craftsmanship, Quiet Airflow & Easy Service

What is hidden in your attic matters just as much as what you see on the ceiling. We fabricate custom sheet-metal plenums, run properly sized and strapped ductwork, build walk-on plywood service walkways, and install shutoff valves at individual indoor units on multi-zone systems—so a technician can service one room without shutting down cooling for the rest of the house.

Typical install: Crushed flex duct tangled across attic joists, noisy vents, and no way to service one zone without turning off the whole house.
Rea's standard: Hand-built sheet-metal transitions, quiet linear or flush vents, full attic walkways, and room-level service shutoff valves.
Principle 04

Outdoor Air Protection & Fresh-Air Control

A healthy home needs fresh outdoor air every day—except when wildfire smoke or poor air quality rolls into the neighborhood. We install a fresh-air system that brings in clean, filtered outdoor air every day and can be shut off when outdoor smoke spikes. While closed, your system recirculates indoor air through deep-pleat hospital-grade air filters, carbon odor filtration, and UV air purification. If you want to see what’s in your air, we can also add indoor air quality monitoring that tracks fine particles, VOCs, and humidity, and ties into your filtration and fresh-air system.

Typical install: Standard fresh-air fans that switch off the blower motor but leave the duct open so wind pushes smoke straight indoors.
Rea's standard: A fresh-air system that brings in fresh air and can be shut off during wildfire smoke or a spike in poor air quality, paired with hospital-grade filtration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Custom HVAC Design & Installation

Clear answers on how we design, build, and care for custom residential heating, cooling, and indoor air quality systems.

Do you upgrade existing homes, or only work on new custom builds?

Both. Most of our work is upgrading existing residences—replacing loud, uneven systems, redesigning undersized attic ductwork, adding room-by-room zoning, or upgrading to high-efficiency inverter heat pumps, split systems, and multi-zone VRF/VRV systems across major brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi, Lennox, Trane, and Carrier—while also partnering with custom home builders and architects from the blueprint stage.

Why do you fabricate custom sheet-metal plenums instead of using standard flex-duct boxes?

Off-the-shelf sheet metal and crushed flex duct create air turbulence, whistling registers, and uneven room temperatures. We hand-fabricate insulated sheet-metal supply and return plenums sized to each room's heat load so airflow is whisper-quiet and balanced.

How does your fresh-air system handle poor outdoor air, like wildfire smoke?

On clear days, our motorized fresh-air intake brings filtered outdoor air into the home. When outdoor air quality drops due to wildfire smoke, canyon wind dust, or regional haze, the intake can be shut off or set to recirculate while indoor air circulates through deep-pleat hospital-grade filtration, carbon odor media, and UV purification. Automatic smoke response is something we design only for homes with compatible integrated controls, and we discuss it during the walkthrough.

Do you only work on VRF systems?

No. Multi-zone VRF/VRV is one of our specialties, but many of the homes we care for run conventional systems—central air with a gas furnace, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, or package units. We design, replace, repair, and maintain all of them across every major brand, with the same attention to duct design, quiet airflow, and clean air.

Do you service conventional split systems and furnaces?

Yes. We repair, tune up, and replace conventional (non-inverter) split systems, furnace and AC combinations, and heat pumps. We can also improve the system you already have with ductwork upgrades, zoning, and better filtration and fresh air. If replacement makes sense, we size the new equipment for your home rather than simply matching the old unit.

Do your memberships include 24/7 remote monitoring?

Our Maintenance, Priority, and White Glove memberships cover every major HVAC brand with seasonal visits, filter care, and control calibration. 24/7 remote monitoring is available only for homes with compatible Daikin equipment; we do not offer remote monitoring for non-Daikin systems. Memberships themselves still cover every major brand.
