Understand the Home First
Before recommending anything, we look at how the home performs today: airflow, duct condition, room-to-room temperature differences and indoor air quality.
Rea's Air Conditioning and Heating is a family-run HVAC design firm based in Simi Valley, led by owner and lead system designer Riley Rea. We find out how a home actually performs before recommending anything, design each room on purpose, and measure the finished system before we call the work complete.

Riley Rea started in HVAC in 2014 and found a trade he loved. What held his attention was the science behind it: how air moves through a house, why one room runs warm while the next stays cool, and what a mechanical system does to the air a family breathes every day.
He spent the years that followed with very good companies and learned a great deal. He also noticed a pattern. Much of the industry is built around replacing equipment. Homes are rarely tested to find out what is really wrong, and results are rarely measured once the work is done. Success is judged by whether the house cools in summer and heats in winter, with little thought for the health of the home or the quality of its air.
The problems most homeowners live with have real solutions. They simply have to be found, solved and proven.
So Riley went deeper. He became BPI-certified through the Building Performance Institute and studied building science, which treats a house as one connected system of structure, ductwork, ventilation and equipment. In 2016 he began installing VRF systems and came to see them as an important part of where residential HVAC is heading.
In 2021 he founded Rea's Air Conditioning and Heating Inc. to work the way he believed the trade should: understand the home before prescribing, design before selecting equipment, and verify the result. The company is family-run, and Riley is still personally involved in every project.
A new system can only solve the problems someone has taken the time to find. Our process is built around finding them, solving them and confirming they are solved.
Before recommending anything, we look at how the home performs today: airflow, duct condition, room-to-room temperature differences and indoor air quality.
Each room gets its own load calculation (Manual J). Equipment is selected to match (Manual S), and ductwork is designed to deliver air evenly and quietly (Manual D).
At completion we measure what we built, including airflow, refrigerant charge and indoor air quality, and review the readings with you at handover.
Our in-house team fabricates the sheet metal, installs the system and commissions it, so the people who design your system answer for how it performs.

More than a decade in HVAC, before and since founding Rea's in 2021.
Variable refrigerant flow systems for homes with many independently controlled rooms.

Founder and sole owner of Rea's Air Conditioning and Heating Inc. BPI-certified, in the trade since 2014 and installing VRF systems since 2016.
Rea's is family-run. When you call, you reach the team that does the work, led by the owner, not a commissioned salesperson or a rotating crew.
Riley is personally involved in every project, from the first walkthrough to the final measurements at handover.
