Can a wine room share the home's main HVAC system?
Generally not. Wine rooms need to hold steady conditions year-round, independent of the home's heating and cooling. A dedicated system is the reliable approach.
A collection deserves an environment that never changes: steady cool temperatures, controlled humidity and air that moves gently and quietly. Wine rooms today are often glass-walled showpieces in the middle of a living space, which makes them as much an engineering problem as a design feature. We design and install wine room cooling that protects the collection and stays out of sight and out of earshot.

Wine ages best in a stable environment, typically held in the mid-fifties Fahrenheit with moderate humidity, protected from light and vibration. What matters most is consistency: a room that swings with the afternoon sun or the household's thermostat settings does more harm than one held steadily a few degrees warmer.
We calculate the room's load from its glass, walls, lighting and the spaces around it, then select equipment that can hold temperature and humidity steadily through a Southern California summer.
Glass wine walls are beautiful and demanding. Glass carries heat into the room and can fog or drip when cold air meets warm, humid air on the other side. We work with the builder and glazing contractor on insulated glass, vapor barriers, air sealing and supply placement so the glass stays clear.
Walls, ceilings and doors are reviewed for insulation and vapor control before the room is closed up. Getting this right during construction is far easier than correcting it later.
Self-contained units that hang in the wall are rarely right for a fine home: they are visible and audible inside the room. We prefer split and ducted systems that place the condensing equipment outside or in a mechanical space, with supply and return grilles integrated into racking, ceilings or millwork.
We design across all major brands and system types and select equipment for the room's needs. Temperature and humidity monitoring is available as an optional addition for collectors who want it.
Wine room systems run continuously and deserve their own maintenance schedule. We include them in White Glove, Priority and Maintenance memberships, each tailored by proposal to the equipment in the home, with coil cleaning, drain checks and verification of temperature and humidity at every visit.

Through insulated glass, careful air sealing and vapor control, and supply air placed so it does not wash cold air directly across the glass. We coordinate these details during construction.
Often, yes. We assess the room's construction and current equipment, then recommend a quieter, concealed system and any insulation or sealing improvements.
Yes. Wine room equipment is included in our memberships alongside the home's other systems, with its own checks at every visit.
Share plans or a few notes about the room and the collection. Riley Rea or a senior team member will reply personally. Every system is tailored by proposal.
