How do you keep tall great rooms comfortable?
By delivering air where people are rather than where it is convenient, using properly placed supply and return paths and, where suitable, ceiling fans or high returns that manage stratified warm air.
A Calabasas residence is often designed around volume and light: tall ceilings, broad windows toward the hills and open plans that flow onto terraces. Those qualities are also what make comfort difficult. We engineer heating and cooling to work with the architecture rather than against it, so the home feels even, quiet and effortless in every room.

Every project begins with a room-by-room Manual J load calculation, Manual S equipment selection and Manual D duct design. In a great room with a two-story ceiling and west-facing glass, that analysis shapes everything: where air is delivered, how much is needed and how to keep warm air from collecting high in the space.
In The Oaks and Calabasas Park, where many homes have been remodeled, we also account for walls that have been removed, rooms that have been added and how each space is now used.
We plan air delivery with the architecture. Linear slot diffusers aligned with lighting, concealed returns in millwork and air handlers placed where they can be serviced but never heard all keep the interior calm. Hand-built sheet-metal ductwork, properly sized and sealed, moves air quietly.
Outdoor equipment is sited for shade and airflow and kept away from pools, terraces and neighboring bedrooms, with screening coordinated to community guidelines where they apply.
We design and install across all major brands, including Daikin, Mitsubishi, Lennox, Trane and Carrier. Large homes with many rooms sometimes suit a variable refrigerant system that lets each space hold its own temperature, while others are better served by ducted variable-speed equipment with zoning. Often the answer is a combination.
Every installation is commissioned with measured airflow at each register, verified refrigerant charge and a walkthrough of the controls, then documented for the household and for future care.

It can be, particularly for large homes with many independently used rooms. We compare it with ducted alternatives during design and recommend whichever fits the architecture and the way you live.
Yes. We provide diffuser and return details early so they can be integrated with lighting, ceilings and millwork.
As early as possible. When we join during design, duct routes, equipment rooms and diffuser locations can be planned with the architecture, which avoids soffits, compromises and later changes in the field.
Share plans or a few notes about the project. Riley Rea or a senior team member will reply personally to arrange a walkthrough. Every system is tailored by proposal.
