Can higher-grade filters harm my system?
Only if the ductwork cannot support them. We measure static pressure and size the filter cabinet so airflow stays within the equipment's design range.
The open space that makes Thousand Oaks so appealing also shapes its air. Grassy hillsides and oak woodland bring pollen in spring, dry winds carry dust in autumn, and fires anywhere in the region can send smoke across the valley. We design air quality systems that keep homes fresh day to day and can be closed to outdoor air when it turns poor.

At the center of the system is controlled fresh air, usually through an energy recovery ventilator that brings in filtered outdoor air and exhausts stale air while holding on to much of the home's comfort. It is especially valuable in newer, tighter homes in Dos Vientos and Lang Ranch.
When poor outdoor air moves in, such as wildfire smoke or elevated pollution, the fresh-air intake can be shut off completely or set to recirculate, and the home continues to filter and clean the air already inside. Automatic smoke response is something we design only for homes with compatible integrated controls, and we discuss it during the walkthrough. For a family, the experience is simply that the house stays fresh.
Fine filtration in the MERV 15 to 16 range captures smoke particles, pollen and the fine dust that blows in on windy days. We confirm the duct system can support the filter before installing it, often with a deeper filter cabinet, so airflow and quiet operation are preserved.
Activated carbon handles odors and many of the gases that accompany smoke, and ultraviolet light keeps the coil and drain pan clean. Together they keep the system from holding on to smells long after an event has passed.
If you want to see what's in your air, we can add indoor air quality monitoring that tracks fine particles, VOCs, and humidity, and ties into your filtration and fresh-air system. It is an addition for families who want it; the fresh air and filtration work fully on their own.
Everything is designed to work with the equipment you already have. Many Thousand Oaks clients keep filters, UV lamps and the fresh-air damper on schedule through a White Glove membership.
Only if the ductwork cannot support them. We measure static pressure and size the filter cabinet so airflow stays within the equipment's design range.
Open windows work on calm, clear days. Fresh-air ventilation provides filtered air every day, including pollen season, hot afternoons and smoke events, without letting in what you are trying to keep out.
Most air quality upgrades in an existing home take one to a few days, depending on the scope and access. We plan the work to keep the home comfortable throughout.
We will review the existing system and recommend an approach to fresh air and filtration for your home, with monitoring available as an option. Every plan is tailored by proposal.
