Can air quality protection be added to a home that was not rebuilt?
Yes. We review the existing equipment, ductwork and available space, then recommend filtration and fresh air that fit the home, with monitoring available as an option.
For many in Pacific Palisades, clean indoor air is no longer an abstract concern. Whether a home is newly rebuilt or has stood for decades, a well-designed air quality system can bring in fresh coastal air on clear days and close the home to outdoor air when smoke is present. We design these systems with care, so they protect the household without demanding attention.

Much of the year, the Palisades enjoys cool, moist ocean air. An energy recovery ventilator brings that air in continuously through filtration, exhausting stale air and moderating humidity along the way. Homes stay fresh even when windows are closed against the marine layer or nearby construction dust.
In newly rebuilt homes, which are often built tighter than the houses they replaced, this dedicated fresh-air supply is especially important. We calculate ventilation rates for each home and balance the system at commissioning.
On poor outdoor air days, such as wildfire smoke, the fresh-air intake can be shut off or set to recirculate, and the system continues to clean the air inside through fine filtration in the MERV 15 to 16 range and an activated carbon stage that reduces odors and many gases. Automatic smoke response is something we design only for homes with compatible integrated controls, and we discuss it during the walkthrough.
Ultraviolet light in each air handler keeps coils and drain pans clean in the damp coastal climate.
If you want to see what's in your air, we can add indoor air quality monitoring that tracks fine particles, VOCs, and humidity, and ties into your filtration and fresh-air system. For some families, that added visibility brings peace of mind; the system protects the home with or without it.
We design for homes across the Palisades, from El Medio Bluffs and the Alphabet Streets to Rustic Canyon and Palisades Highlands, fitting each plan to the equipment and the house. White Glove members have filters, UV lamps and dampers serviced on schedule.

Filtered fresh air and high-efficiency filtration greatly reduce it. Filter schedules can be adjusted during periods of heavy nearby construction.
A space, often the primary suite, designed to stay especially clean during smoke events with dedicated filtration and a sealed fresh-air supply. Our Safe Haven page explains the approach.
Shut off the fresh-air intake or set it to recirculate, and the system keeps filtering indoor air until conditions improve. Automatic smoke response is something we design only for homes with compatible integrated controls, and we discuss it during the walkthrough.
We will review your home or plans and recommend an approach to fresh air and filtration, with monitoring available as an option. Every plan is tailored by proposal.
