Can high-efficiency filtration be added to an older estate system?
Usually, with a properly sized filter cabinet and sometimes an added return. We measure the existing system first so the upgrade does not strain equipment or create noise.
Beverly Hills sits where the city meets the Santa Monica Mountains. Homes in The Flats contend with urban traffic and fine particles, while canyon properties in Benedict and Coldwater Canyons and the Beverly Hills Post Office area are closer to brush and the smoke of fire season. We design air quality systems that keep each home fresh, clean and protected in both settings.

An energy recovery ventilator brings in a steady supply of filtered outdoor air and exhausts stale air, keeping large homes fresh even with windows closed. It retains much of the home's comfort as it exchanges the air.
On poor outdoor air days, such as wildfire smoke, the fresh-air intake can be shut off or set to recirculate, and the home continues to clean the air inside. Automatic smoke response is something we design only for homes with compatible integrated controls, and we discuss it during the walkthrough.
Fine filtration in the MERV 15 to 16 range captures the smallest particles from traffic and smoke as well as pollen and dust. An activated carbon stage reduces odors and many gases, protecting art, textiles and furnishings as well as the household.
Ultraviolet light in each air handler keeps coils clean. In older estates, we size filter cabinets and returns so high-efficiency filtration does not strain existing equipment or add noise. Where an existing system cannot support it, we recommend the smallest change that will, such as a larger return or a dedicated filtration unit.
If you want to see what's in your air, we can add indoor air quality monitoring that tracks fine particles, VOCs, and humidity, and ties into your filtration and fresh-air system. It is an addition for households that want it, never a requirement.
Every plan is fitted to the home's existing equipment. White Glove members have filters, UV lamps and dampers serviced on schedule, with a full check after any smoke event.

Yes. The Flats see more traffic-related fine particles, while canyon homes face more smoke risk. Both benefit from fine filtration and a fresh-air supply that can be shut off on smoke days.
No. It is optional, never required. Fresh air and filtration work fully on their own. Monitoring can be added if you would like it.
A space, often the primary suite, designed to stay especially clean during smoke events with dedicated filtration and a sealed fresh-air supply. Our Safe Haven page explains the approach.
We will review the residence and its systems and recommend an approach to fresh air and filtration, with monitoring available as an option. Every plan is tailored by proposal.
